Gameweek 5 Preview: Testing the "Best of 15" Format

Tighter races, higher stakes, every match matters.

When we introduced the Best of 20 format at the start of October, our goal was simple: reward consistency over volume and ensure managers weren’t pressured into playing 50+ matches just to stay relevant.

After four Gameweeks of data and thousands of battles, the feedback is clear:

Reaching 18 to 20 wins is a massive hurdle that often feels out of reach before the weekend even starts.
A single bad run early in the week can make the podium look untouchable.
We want more drama at the top of the leaderboard on Sunday night, not a settled race by Saturday morning.
We will introduce more ways to grab enhancers in order for more diverse scores.

Starting this Tuesday, October 27 at 12:00 PM (Paris time) for Gameweek 5, we are running a one-week test: the Weekly Leaderboard will count your Best of 15 battles instead of 20.

What changes for Gameweek 5?

Your Top 15 battles count: Only your 15 highest-scoring results during the Gameweek (Tuesday 12:00 → Tuesday 12:00) contribute to your Weekly leaderboard score.
Every win is more impactful: With a theoretical cap of 60 base points (15 wins × 4 pts, plus any boosts), the gap between #1 and #10 will be tighter than ever.
Losses are easier to wash out: Played a tough match? Hit a red card? You need fewer replacement wins to erase your worst results and climb into the rewards.
CAP 280 remains active: The L15 team cap stays in place for Week 5, ensuring tactical depth and scouting edge over raw gallery size.

What this means for your strategy

For Free Managers (15 base battles + daily missions):
You now have enough native weekly matches to fully field your Best of 15 card. Complete your daily missions to earn bonus battles and replace your early defeats with fresh wins. If you put together a solid run of 10–12 wins, you are genuinely in the hunt for the podium and the guaranteed €3 Limited card for the Top Free Manager.
For Premium Managers (30 base battles + Pro features):
Your 30 matches give you twice the runway to craft the cleanest possible 15-game run. You can afford to take tactical risks, scout aggressive lineups, and use your extra buffer to discard mediocre scores.
